Rocket Languages is a language-learning programme that utilises audio lectures, interactive activities, and readings to teach you how to utter common phrases and learn more about the language. You learn how to greet people, order meals and drinks, and ask for directions. You may learn enough to be a gracious visitor in a foreign nation in a matter of weeks. Rocket Languages provides some training in the app, but you’ll likely want to find another tool to reinforce it—the service is fantastic at introducing new scripts, but not at reinforcing them. The key selling point for this app is that you can pay a one-time fee for lifetime access, or split payment based on a 6 month plan.
Rocket Languages offers 12 languages for English speakers: Chinese, French, German, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese (Brazilian), Spanish (Latin American), Arabic (Egyptian), American Sign Language, Chinese, French, and Italian. Rocket Languages is a good language-learning tool if you want to learn some trip phrases and plan to return to the software every few months or years to brush up. It’s not fantastic at helping you build a basis for learning a language, and it’s not great for teaching foreign scripts. That being said, it does contain a lot of resources for reading about the language and even learning about the writing system, but how you utilise those resources is entirely up to you. It’s not truly incorporated into the programme. Rocket Languages is appealing to everyone who dislikes membership costs and wishes to pay once and possess things permanently.
